I will never watch another Bulls draft lottery again- it was obviously good luck cause I was in class when this shit went down. I didn't believe the first text..
Holy fucking Derrick Motherfucking Rose..FUCK!!!! It's gotta be Rose, this team with Rose is too fucking nasty.
Plus they get to trade Hinrich for another good player( and hopefully package the garbage aka Larry Hughes with him). I can't wait to see how all of this plays out..can't wait.

Beasley's a great player.. he'll look really nice next to Wade and Marion. I think it would be a mistake for the Bulls to pick him though, create more of a log-jam than there already is at the 3/4. It'd be more of a good problem than a bad one when you have Beasley out there wrecking shit, but this Bulls team is really lacking a top flight PG- and that's exactly what Rose is going to be.
I still can't believe this. What a good problem to have- the 20 pt 10 reb guy, or the PG that people are comparing to Kidd and Paul?
Hah, spelling it out like that, it becomes even more obvious.

Just glorious, this news is.
The pick's gotta be Derrick Rose. He's the most dynamic player in the draft by a wide margin, which is saying a lot because Beasley is terrifying.
The guy wins games, handles the ball like a dream, and actually already knows how to find his own teammates when they're open, something the Bulls had a hard time doing about 70% of the time last year.
Plus, he's FROM CHICAGO. Fans will eat that shit up and the season at the United center would sell out before the first game.

Beasley has monster numbers and is 6' 10" on a worse team than Rose. But, Rose's numbers, if I remember right, were deceiving because they escalated big time in the tourney.
With Tyrus and Noah, I think it's a slam dunk to go with Rose and he looks to be that transcendent great player to me.
Biggie: are both Rose and Beasley freshman?
Such great news this AM turning on the AM...
Bleep Blop
May 21 2008, 09:04 AM
They're both 19 and freshmen.
Rose is huge for a PG. 6'3", 190 lbs. Elite size, elite speed.. he has all the tools to be one of the best PGs in the game. Beasley is a huge talent, but it seems like a Beasley comes along once every couple of years, where as Roses are few and far between.

This is what I think, as well. Noah/Gooden/Thomas is servicable. Gooden showed some signs last year of being better than we thought he was at the time of the trade. I'm not saying that having Gooden on the roster is a reason to pass up on Beasely, but it's not as glaring a hole as it has been in the past.
The league is far more guard oriented now, anyway. Rose is the poetential star the Bulls need. Drafting him also fascilitates trading Hinrich.
So many possibilities. I am still kind of shocked.
Bleep Blop
May 21 2008, 09:18 AM
Yeah, way more guard oriented these days. Look at what New Orleans and Utah have done since picking up their franchise PGs. Just the thought of watching the Bulls within a round or two of the finals and having a chance to further compete is pretty great.
Another knock on Beasley for what it's worth- attended six different high schools in five different states(
from Rich Morressey's article today ). I had heard about all the transfers, but I really had no idea it was that many. Paxson doesn't seem to usually go for red flags of that nature unless he is pretty much forced to(i.e. Hughes).
