This seems like a good solution to the fish/no fish discussion.

One thread only for discussion, unencumbered by links and downloads and shit.

If you want links, go to the other thread.
Pavement Ist Rad
I heard the new Animal Collective in 5.1 HD surround sound while Avey Tare sucked my sucked my cock and it's a piece of shit.

The link was taken down so this is a one-sided discussion, I guess.
simakos
this ain't gonna work...

so we're supposed to discuss all albums in here? nuh uh.
Slackmo
This is singularly boneheaded, if well-intentioned.
blackswede
this will not work, unless these 2 threads remain conjoined....
Waylon
Oh, I get it, this is performance art. A commentary on Rufus' proposal to split the etc. board. Well played theremin.
Very Metal
Man, it's like a message board inside a message board.
brain_storm
We're veering dangerously close to invocation of the word "meta."
Soundscape
well, beyond the Margot CONAN appearance..this news made my night smile.gif

I'm looking forward to Raekwon's new album, Built 4 Cuban Linx 2. Should be epic like the first. Big fan of The Chef.
Clipse's new album "Til the Casket Drops" will be coming out early part of '09.
Supposedly, MGMT is working on a double album. Hopefully that will dominate. I'm sure at least half of it will.
Looking forward to Lil' Wayne in '09 to see what he will do.
The Flaming Lips MIGHT be releasing another studio album? God, I hope so.
Hot Chip for sure, probably releasing an album in the summer.

I hope to see something from Damien Rice, The National, The Dodos (who seem to come out with an album every year since they began), Girl Talk, and Kanye's album in June.
Web Sheriff
Radiohead - Over the Rainbow is a great album. Oh? You guys haven't heard about it yet? Just wait til March 9, 2009. You'll hear. wink.gif

It's like, we're looking at Wayne's basement. Only, that's not Wayne's basement. Isn't that weird?

It's still superior to never really offering anything and just mildly reacting.
Liffey
Hey guys, this really cool new album just came out. It's pretty great. What? You'd like to hear it for yourself? Ok, well I'll just make a parallel thread for links so that so we can essentially have two topics on the exact same topic. That will be SO much cooler than just chilling out and letting there be one damn thread on the damn topic.

I know I'm probably supposed to have a higher post count before I'm allowed to be a dick, but I'm just saying. Doesn't make much sense to me.
chingram

No, you can be a dick from the first post forward - you need the higher post count so that someone will pay attention to you.
MattDrufke
I believe albums in 2009 will be cube-shaped.

Also, for Monty to be calling refer to anyone's style of posting as "never really offering anything and just mildly reacting" is the biggest laugh in this thread.

Can we expect to see a release from The Knife in 2009? It's been three years. Let's hope so.

Never mind:

QUOTE
On November 26th, 2008, an offical email was sent by Frau Rabid, stating that The Knife would be composing all new original music for an Opera. "In November 2009, it is precisely 150 years since Charles Darwin published The Origin of Species, a work that describes the biological and geological world, as it has come into existence and continues to do so every single day. Our view of the world has been changed for ever as a result of the theory of evolution. Tomorrow, in a year uses Darwin’s way of observing and describing the world. Change as a process and the interrelationship of all things is the basic material of the performance."
SonicAlligator
Also, what does everyone think of Chester French? They are two Harvard grads who make sweet remixes and great songs (perhaps you have heard them on Entourage). They have been getting talked up a lot and they signed to Pharrell's label. They will also be on Common's new album.

Here's "She Loves Everybody." One of my favorites.

SonicAlligator
This sounds like Weezer's "Buddy Holly" I think.

Chester French - The Jimmy Choos

I will be checking out that Pain of Salvation DVD and the Umphrey's McGee as well from the January titles above.

Not certain when, but at some point, info about the new Soundscape album "Grave New World" will come out. It may be out in January as the artwork is finally finished.
