I am here because I am bored during the day and do not enjoy interacting with real people. What are your reasons?

Great place to find out about shit.
Great place to aid others in finding out about shit.
Ditto for swapping stuff.
Also, the general majority of the people in here are pretty cool chaps that I'd be happy to have a cocktail with. Even those that act like hateful antagonistic bastards now and again. SOMB's full of the kind of folk who could have a conversation about the beachboys without mentioning kokomo as "good."
All and all, a pretty stellar place to trade ideas that don't suck dong. And to make dick jokes.

I was drawn in by the music discussion. The Music side of the board has been a very useful tool for discovering new music. The Etc. side, can be fairly amusing when the participants are not taking themselves too seriously.

I post on message boards because most of my co-workers are right wing...uh...difficult...people I choose not to enage regularly. I can still get my work done speed-scanning threads about flatulence and Mark Lanegan, but I can't get my work done listening to co-workers spouting Archie Bunkerisms all day long.
Also, every eighth or ninth-hundred thread contains the smallest sliver of validation that I haven't wasted my tiny life insisting that things like New Model Army bonus tracks are IMPORTANT, dammit.

I like to read about music and etc.. even though I've not kept up with lots of the newer bands -- it's kind of nice to know that what is written here will be read by lots of people you'll never meet, -- and the range and diversity of topics is pretty compelling --Also, I like to interject my Catholic/Christian beliefs into the mix to see how others will react to my viewpoint -- to present a minority viewpoint -- in some ways is more interesting -- I'm definitely not just "preaching to the choir".

I like you Fender.
I'm a little bit more liberal as a Catholic though.
Couple examples: I think abortion is completely morally wrong and could never have one (in any case) but I wouldn't vote to rid of it because it's such excellent population control. I shake my head when I watch Catholic missionaries go into the most desolate communities of Africa to work with the people who have Aids (which you have to give the Catholics credit for) but then I see that they fight it with values and not condoms. The values stuff works ideally if everyone was educated, responsible, and followed through with moral duty; but, that's not human nature.
Lol, ok, that was a rant.
