Here's where we post songs that contain some lyrics or the song title of another song.
I haven't given much thought to others, that's where you all come in, but as I was driving just now I heard one and thought it'd make a fun thread.
Dire Straits - Romeo & Juliet (song with in it: The Angels - My Boyfriend's Back")
"He's underneath the window she's singing hey la my boyfriends back"

Patty Griffin's "Burgundy Shoes" has the line "Michelle, Ma Belle - the song that you loved then"
Springsteen's thunder road's has the line "roy orbison singing for the lonely"
Steve Earle's Hard Core Troubadour has the line "hey rosalita won't you come out tonight"
John Hiatt's Slow Turning has always struck me as a Stone's tribute - at one point he throws in "not fade away", the kids in the back are "banging like charlie watts" and probably the best one for this thread "I never did get what I wanted, Now I get what I need"
good thread. I'm sure I'll think of tons more.

The Gaslight Anthem's "High Lonesome", from the new album that a few of us have been digging on in another thread, has a couple of good ones - the chorus references the Counting Crows:
"Maria came from Nashville with a suitcase in her hand -
I always kinda sorta wished I looked like Elvis"
and later he pulls out Springsteen:
"At night I wake up with the sheets soakin' wet
It's a pretty good song, maybe you know the rest"
And from the same Okkervil River album, of course, there's "John Allyn Smith Sails", which slowly morphs into "Sloop John B."...

John Lennon quotes "She Loves You" on the fade of "All You Need is Love." Similarly, "Glass Onion" contains allusions to "Fool On the Hill' and "Strawberry Fields Forever." (Shit, Caustic beat me to that one.)
Eddie Money's unfortunate "Take Me Home Tonight" is redeemed by Ronnie Specter singing her own "Be My Baby" on the fade.
And Dylan quotes his own "Highlands" in "The Levee's Gonna Break."

Listening to the Radio:
Where's my Peggy Sue?
I could use a Rosalita
If there's a Long Tall Sally out there
I'm dyin' to meet her
Why can't I hear Beth callin' me?
Why can't I be the one to make Sara smile?
I wish I was arm in arm with Jean genie
Walkin' down the aisle
Oh yeah, all right
But I got no Mary Jane
There's no Sloopy or Dancin' Queen
I'm just a fool in the rain
Waitin' on my Billie Jean
I want an Angie, a Mandy, a Candy-O
A devil in a dress of blue
A Rosanna, Diana, a sweet Caroline
I'd even take a Run-Around Sue
Oh yeah, all right
Well, I never got to scream for a Layla
I never saw Mary-Anne walkin' away
I never danced on the sand with a Rio
Or woke up with a Maggie May
I dialed 867-5309
But there was no Jenny Jenny
Oh, why can't I get myself a brown-eyed girl
When Willie Nelson loved so many?
And why does Jack have Diane?
And why does Billy Joe have Bobbie Sue?
And everybody had Roxanne
Except you-know-who
I want an Angie, a Mandy, a Candy-O
A devil in a dress of blue
A Rosanna, Diana, a sweet Caroline
I'd even take a Run-Around Sue
Well I'd take any ol' Suzy Q
I got no reason to be picky
She can be a Goody-Goody-Two-Shoes
Or she can be my Darling Nikki
Oh, Brandy would be such a fine girl
And so would the sweet Judy Blue
I guess I sound just like that other fella
'Cause you know I wish I had Jessie's girl too
Oh yeah, all right
Well, I'd die for a kiss from Allison
Even though I know she'd break my heart
Or give me a Lo-lo-lo-lola
Minus the extra part
I want an Angie, a Mandy, a Candy-O
A devil in a dress of blue
A Rosanna, Diana, a sweet Caroline
I'd even take a Run-Around Sue
You know I'd even take a Run-Around Sue
Well, I'd even take a Run-Around SueI always thought the Jean Genie was a male. Maybe Sandler accidentally got a bit gay on this one. Long before it became his default comedic role in his movies.

DBT's do this a lot. "Let There Be Rock" is another glaring example. Also, in "3 Dimes Down" the line "Rock and Roll never forgets" seems like a pretty obvious nod to Bob Seger.
